PPG PR1422 B-2 is a two-part polysulphide sealant designed for applications requiring a removable, fuel-resistant seal. It is typically used for fuel tank access doors, form-in-place gaskets, and protective sealing where ease of removal is important for inspection and maintenance.
This sealant is a manganese dioxide-cured polysulphide compound supplied as a thixotropic, low-sag paste, allowing controlled application using standard extrusion equipment or hand tools. Once cured at ambient conditions, it forms a flexible seal with good adhesion to common aerospace substrates while remaining removable when required. It maintains its sealing properties after exposure to aviation fuels, making it suitable for access panels and gasket applications. Its low-adhesion characteristics make it ideal for areas that require periodic inspection or disassembly, supporting efficient maintenance without compromising sealing performance.
