PPG PR1428 B-1/2 is a two-part polysulphide sealant designed for applications where a removable seal is required. It is commonly used for access panels, form-in-place gaskets, and protection of electrical components against environmental exposure.
This sealant is a manganese dioxide-cured polysulphide compound supplied as a thixotropic, low-sag paste, allowing precise application using standard extrusion equipment or hand tools. It operates within a temperature range of -54°C to 121°C, maintaining sealing performance under typical aircraft operating conditions. Designed for applications requiring easy removal, it forms a flexible seal that adheres to common aerospace substrates without excessive bonding strength. This makes it particularly suitable for fuel access doors, form-in-place gaskets, and sealing or protecting electrical wiring and components from moisture, contaminants, and fluid exposure.
