PPG PR1764 Class B is a two-part, electrically conductive sealant designed to provide both corrosion protection and long-term EMI/RFI shielding in aerospace applications. Once cured, it maintains electrical continuity across bonded surfaces while offering resistance to aviation fuels, including jet fuel and avgas.

03Technical information

This sealant is a manganese dioxide-cured, nickel-filled polythioether compound based on Permapol P-3 technology. In its uncured state, it has a thixotropic, low-sag consistency, allowing controlled application using standard extrusion equipment or hand tools. When used with a suitable adhesion promoter such as PR148, it achieves strong bonding to typical aerospace substrates. The material performs across a service temperature range of -55°C (-67°F) to 121°C (250°F), with intermittent exposure up to 182°C (360°F). Its corrosion-inhibiting formulation helps protect aluminium alloys and interfaces between dissimilar metals from common corrosion mechanisms.
